Joel was originally designed to be a Tremere replacement. I prefer natural mages like sorcerers and warlocks over book smart mages like wizards. So Joel is my idea of a naturally talented sorcerer... which affords him enough time to get a cool haircut. Joel has an evil edge and lacks discipline. He could also work as a Malkavian or a Brujah.
