So long as millions and millions of people die in hunger and ignorance, I hold every educated man a traitor who having been educated at their expense pays not the least heed to them.                                                                                 ----- Swami Vivekananda

We can attain salvation through social work.                        ----- Swami Vivekananda

The universal challenge in the knowledge driven society is developing human potential with the necessary skills that the twenty first century demands. In pursuance of this goal it becomes imperative to learn how to learn. As recommended by the Delor’s report of UNESCO a learning society is built upon the four pillars of education i.e. learning to know, learning to be, learning to do and learning to live together which forms the basis of life skills education. In the context of globalization and knowledge economy, education for sustainable development calls for wider application of life skills approach in education which focuses on acquiring the requisite knowledge, attitude and skills. Interactions towards Life Skills Education are organised to facilitate bridging the missing links of interaction among academicians, life skills practitioners, schools/colleges, policy makers and researchers on single platform for knowledge sharing. The essence of the activity will be towards the realization of self-skills improvement as propounded by the practical approach exemplified by Swami Vivekanada.

In VYJV, Kukutpally Guidance & Counselling services are available.  Unfortunately, youth and teenagers nowadays fall easy prey to ignorance, misguidance, depression, lack of self-skills and owing to sensitive mind/ inferiority complex/ learned helplessness.

Guidance & Counselling services include tips for self-skills development, personality development, life-skills development, performance analysis, tranformance from a low performance student to a high performance student, improvement etc. The all round development of a youth includes excellence in education, inculcation of national, human and moral values. Life Skills are essential for enhancing self-efficacy and Quality of Life.

There is a social interest NGO, "R O S H N I", which is very worthy of mention and knowing in this context.  It is very  resourceful for intervention for persons who tend to develop suicidal tendencies. It is detailed in the leaflet image given below. Feel free and contact the organisation "r o s h n i" helpline available 24 hrs.* MON-SAT days of the week.
