Whether you have children yourself, or you remember when you were in school, you are probably familiar with the following scenario – the first hours at school children’s mind is vital. They are active, participate, summarize, and mainly listen with focused attention. However, as the days continues, body and mind get tired and the attentiveness to learning , weakens as well.
What is going on in their body & mind while we or our children are in the learning process?
Lets observe physical vitality first. This is the basic infrastructure for all learning. In extreme situation, If your child didn’t’ t sleep all night for some reason, s/he will be sleepy , non attentive, confused and yawn frequently. If your child is hungry, s/he will not concentrate and will be nervous and weak.
If s/he in pain, their attention will be focused of eliminating the pain rather than on the teacher or the content of subject being taught.
What can we do about being attentive to our children’s’ physical conditions? Wake your child half an hour earlier for a jointly physical awareness checkup as part of your and your child daily routine.
If you have a VAT system, this can simplify and facilitate the process. Teach him/her how to visualize the blood, nervous, muscles systems, while the vibrations flow into them and scan his/her inner organs, tissues and cells. This inner journey itself is a training for having focused attention. Guide him/her to watch thoughts and emotions that may be driving him/her away of the path of the inner body scanning journey. Guide him/her how to navigate his/her focus back to the mission of inner observation of the body parts. After 23 minutes, s/he will get back to you with the results. As you diagnose together his/her body and mind you may decide to add a sandwich, a fruit, bottle of water, or may even suggest to let him stay a day at home to recover from a hidden illness.
VAT session is not only an active tool of awareness of body and mind conditions but also, an inner body massage. It eases muscles tension, reduces stress, improves blood circulation and calms the mind from disturbing thoughts and emotions.
When you child’s physical and mental state of being are well, his/her senses are sharp and ready to input new material .S/he has enough energy not only to remember or summarize what s/he learnt , but to observe and explore new subjects that are taught in school.
Learning process is analogical to planting a new seed and taking care of its growth.
What happens when you dig a hole in the ground, insert a seed, cover the soil and add water?
Become that seed for a moment. The seed magically turn into a sprout if it has the basic conditions to grow – soil, temperature water, oxygen. During its early stages of growth, the seedling relies upon the food supplies stored in itself, until it is large enough for its own leaves to begin making food through photosynthesis that is based on light.
The first stage of learning is based on previous knowledge that is stored in the mind& body. A first day baby has a set of embedded instincts in his body & mind that serve him/her as teaching survival learning tools.
The senses input nonstop data that is accumulated in memory and being used in a trial and error process where good results are compensated by love, food and self reimburse mechanism such as creativity and self exploration. Unfortunately we also learn by negative methods of fear, anger, violence and punishment. For the long run, such methods’ side effects grow way beyond the added value of the knowledge we acquired.
When we eat, we enjoy the process of taste, smell and adding energy to our body. When we learn we enjoy the process of exploration, experiencing, analyzing, imagining, creating models, adding bricks to existing knowledge, expanding it and implementing it in new fields.
If your child doesn’t enjoy the process of learning, something bothers him/her. Maybe it has to do with distracted attention or more seriously ADHD.
Kids with ADHD act without thinking, are hyperactive, and have trouble focusing. They may understand what's expected of them but have trouble following through because they can't sit still, pay attention, or attend to details.
How VAT can help in the process of learning:
When your child comes back from school, his/her mind is loaded with impressions , social interactions and learning experiencing. His/her body is tired and s/he may be hungry.
Either you welcome him/her personally or s/he they are on their own, they need silence. A session of VAT can break the day routine and provide this silence space. 40Hz session for 23 minutes may harmonize body and mind sub systems. Mind subsystems are thoughts, emotions, memory, imagination and dreams.
Harmonic low sound waves create inner body massage and reset organs, tissues and cells. They help in balancing the cells metabolism and tune moods and attention.
After taking a VAT, a good nap, a shower and a good meal, your child can go to his/her desk and do his/her homework tasks.
Before any learning, taking a VAT session can be very useful for the effectiveness of the process.
VAT is effective for any age and any mission. It helps refocus and recharge energies. It helps observing, listening and attentiveness which are important factors of learning, exploring and experiencing.
