Please visit the respective German consulate web site from your country for the complete information. I have just listed the important documents required in normal cases. Depending on the case additional documents may also be required.

Once you have a Schengen Visa then you can legally travel to Germany.

• Invitation Letter
• Sponsor's Visa (Residence Permit or German passport copy) and their passport copies
• Letter from the Employer
• Verpflichtserklärung (obtained from Ausländerbehörde, in case you are on an invited to Germany.)
• Recent salary slips
• Rental Contract (Mietvertrag) or proof of stay
• Marriage Certificate
• Consent Letter from both parents (Child Visa)
• True Complete Information (download from Internet)
• Demand Draft
• 3 Passport photos
• German Language Course Certificate
• Medical Insurance

Visa Processing Time

• It would be wise to plan in advance and apply for visa at least 3 months before your arrival in Germany.
