We get together monthly in camp socials September - May and learn about pioneers with a lesson, history, artifacts, and songs. Afterwards some camps have luncheons while others have refreshments. We enjoy socializing. Nine camps currently make up The Utah North Company: Alpine, Box Elder Peak, Cascade Springs, Deer Haven, Highland, Honey Bee, Mountainville, Temple View, and Timpanogos. The best part of all are the friendships we make. All of the camps are accepting new members.
We are a non-profit society called, "The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Utah North Company." We get together 4 times a year as a company. Elections for leadership are made every odd year. Our meetings consist of some form of entertainment or lecture with a luncheon following. In July each year we hold leadership training just before our meeting called Jubilee. Our 4 meetings are on the first Monday of the following months: March - Company Seminar; May - Company Convention; July - Jubilee; December - Christmas Luncheon.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers, a non-profit society, was established in 1901. We call it International Daughters of Utah Pioneers because members live around the globe although most of the members are in the western part of the United States. There are three levels: International, Company, Camp.
The Utah County Company was organized on 29 March 1911. Back then they had another level of division called districts, one of which was called the North District. As more members joined, the Utah County Company became too large and in 1953 the Utah North Company was organized. Highland, Alpine, Orem, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, Manila, and American Fork were all then put into Utah North Company. Several splits have occured since then so Utah North Company now encompasses only the towns of Alpine & Highland. (Obsolete terms now: district and Utah County Company).
Past information on the various camps and companies within Utah County can be found at the company and camp levels, plus some materials are located in Brigham Young University Special Collections, International Daughters of Utah Pioneers Historical Department, Alpine Relic Hall, and Highland Cabin.
In addition to company and camp meetings we have two great museums. One located in Alpine and the other in Highland, plus 6 monuments. For more information click here.
There are two types of membership: Associate and Registered. For more information click here.
