About Us

Up N Over Agility DTC was founded in the Spring of 2000 for the training of dogs in Obedience and Agility. The seven founding members, who had worked for dog rescue for some years, recognised the need for a fun club which allowed dog owners not wishing to compete in these disciplines, to still be able to train their dogs in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We accept all breeds. We believe that in today's environment it is important that our dogs are trained to be acceptable members of society. Consequently our obedience classes aim to achieve the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards of Bronze, Silver and Gold. Our further aim is to promote and encourage responsible dog ownership. It is encouraging to know that most members join by recommendation from existing members or local veterinary practices.

Up N Over will always have a Special Welcome for rescue dogs regardless of their breed. Throughout the year the Club works for dog rescue and other worthy causes by running a 'Novelty Dog Show' and a 'Have A Go' Agility ring. Monies raised through these events allow us to contribute to animal welfare threefold:

(a) by direct monetary donation.
(b) by attending charity events both as an attraction and fundraiser, supplying rosettes, prizes and trophies,
(c) by providing low cost training to dog owners, helping to keep dog and owner together.

It is important to note that no one at UNO receives a wage or any form of payment whatsoever for their services. All our Trainers and supporters freely give their time, experience and energy to support our club and charity works.

Events:

We have held events for:

Dogs For The Disabled, Hearing Dogs, Hethe Village Hall fund, Houla's Animal Sanctuary, Brackley Carnival, Wing Carnival, Pottersbury Fete, Rotti Rescue, The Round Table, Kirtlington Summer Fete, Countryman Fairs, Country Fairs, Banbury Show, Cotswold Country Fair Cirencester, Tackley Horse & Pony Show and many others.

For the above we ran either or both a 'Have A Go' Agility Ring or a 'Fun Dog Show'. In all cases UNO donated all prizes, rosettes and trophies from club funds. We often make cash donations to increase the days fund raising. We receive requests for help up to 12 months in advance and will return to support worthy causes year by year.

We Donate to:

Ardely Rescue Kennels, Hula Animal Sanctury, Medical Detection Dogs, Border Collie Rescue, Retired Greyhound Rescue, 4 Paws Rotti Rescue, The Oldies Club, Roxie's Rescues, Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home, Dogs Trust, Blue Cross, Samsalin Rescue, Search & Rescue NSARDA, Crossroads Dog Rescue, Animal Welfare Trust, Huskies In Need, Pat Dogs, Keythorpe Rotti Rescue. We also annually sponsor two dogs with Dogs Trust - Leo and Digby.

To raise funds for rescue we attend several country fairs a year at various venues including:

Kelmarsh Country Fair, The British Falconry & Raptor Fair Shropshire, Highclere Country Fair, Sussex Country Fair, Warwickshire & West Midlands Game Fair, Cotswold Country Fair, Knebworth House, Midland Game Fair.

Our purpose here is threefold. Visitors to the fair receive a 15 minute basic agility lesson and free dog training advice. We also run a 'Fun Novelty Dog Show', (along the lines of a breed show), where entrants can win a rosette and a trophy or prize. Through such shows we hope to introduce owners to our sport and help with any problems, which might eventually result in dogs being handed into rescue.

Most owners have always wanted to try agility with their dog - we give them that chance. The 'Fun Dog Show' is the show with the family pet in mind, (although all are welcome), with the opportunity of winning that first rosette and one of a wealth of prizes kindly donated by our sponsors - Skinners Pet Food - Gilpa Petfoods & Wagg Pet Foods.

If you are seeking to train your dog, then please contact us for a free training session* without obligation to join. The coffee and donuts are on us too!

Look Forward to meeting you soon!
