Project Title: Optimal Sizing of PV-Wind Hybrid System for Residential building using HOMER

Instructions:

1. Develope a demand profile of your location as follow:

    a. Get data of appliances of room/lab of your location in Excel file (room-wise data in Excel).

    b. Utilization of appliances will vary as per season (summer or winter) and as well as weekday or weekend (you require 4 hourly demand profiles of your location and translate it into 365 days)

    c. For house: Consider number of occupants in house and their activity while developing the demand.

2. Get Solar radiation and wind data from NASA website (use latitude and longitude of your location).

3. Download HOMER Software from following link (disable anti-virus or windows security to install crack):

Submission (Maximum 4 students are allowed and project need to be submitted by 4th June to Class CR):

1. Homer File.

2. Presentation (6 slides): 

    a. location brief (occupants, area of building (5 or 10 or 20 marla), number of rooms (class rooms, offices, labs etc), number of  living rooms, latitude, longitude)

    b. Number of Appliances and power ratings (bulbs, tubelights, fans, AC, number of lab eqpts, water pumps, TV, charging)

    c. 4 hourly demand profiles (i. summer (weekday), ii. summer (weekend), iii. winter (weekday), iv. winter (weekend))

    d. Total demand profile (monthly) and wind and solar data (monthly).

    e. HOMER model input variables values (tubular form).

    f. Optimum solution result (size of PV-wind system required) and monthly energy dispatch of hybrid system.

3. Excel Data File (a. room-wise appliance calculation and then monthly consumption of your location, b. 4 hourly demand profiles calculation).

Note: In case of plagiarism, zero marks will be issued to every copied submission and case will be forwarded for further disciplinary action.
