In the Ladder Games, players will have the opportunities to improve their skills and game plays while enjoying playing people around the same level, to gain points based on our UUTTC rating exchange system to move up or down the rating ladder, and to join to the U of U Table Tennis Team when they make to the top 8 of the rating ladder.
Here is how the tournament will be organized.
Maximum of 18 players will be entering the tournament based on time signed up and first-come first-served basis.
Players will be divided into 2-3 groups of 4-6 people based on their USATT, SLCTT, or UUTTC ratings such that players around similar rating/skill levels will be placed in the same group. (Unrated players will be placed in the lowest rated group to get an initial rating based on the outcomes of the round robin, and a post tournament rating will be calculated based on the results and the rating exchange system)
The players in each group will then play a round robin tournament. The wins and losses will be reported, and each participant's rating will be updated after the tournament.
The winner of each group will be promoted to the group 1 tier above his group, and the last player of each group will be moved to the group 1 tier below his group in the following week.
