In the last few weeks, we’ve been actively developing our rating exchange system. It's slightly different from but very similar to the USATT rating system if you are familiar with it. Here is how rating will be exchanged between two players based on their rating difference and result (Table 1).
For example, Player A has a rating of 1500 and Player B has a rating of 1600, and their rating difference is 100 points. In the first case, B defeated A which is expected since B has a higher rating, then B will gain 6 points, and A will lose 6 points. If A defeated B, then A will gain 35 points, and B will lose 35 points.
And to encourage participation in the rated events, for every rated match a player plays, he/she earns 2 points no matter winning or losing. Here is how the system works when it is applied to the recreational tryout results.
After all the results for the tryout tournaments have been finalized, the system will be applied to the tournament results to give us a more accurate rating for each player.
p.s. Points exchanged between players with 0 rating difference has been updated to 11 points from 5 points. Recreational tryout rating exchanged has been updated.
