Responsibilities:
Check in with staff upon arrival
Read studies from "ALL ABDOMEN and CHEST" and "Ultrasound" lists
Place all studies in ED Radiologist queue
If staff feels the study requires a subspecialty read, they may move the exam to subspecialty folder
Staff may give you more specific/different instructions at the beginning of the day
Read studies from "On-Call Body" list, as able
Prioritize inpatient/complex ICU studies to assist the on-call residents and staff
Perform emergent fluoroscopy and inpatient leak studies
Chest CT Screening
Review of unread Chest CT to assess for urgent/ emergent findings, specifically, acute pulmonary embolism, pneumothorax, acute aortic dissection/ syndrome and pneumoperitoneum.
Residents: 3rd and 4th Year as moonlighting opportunity
Pay: $100/hour

Volume expectation: 10-12 CT chest screen an hour (average)
Workflow:
Work on contrast enhanced exams first. Once all contrast enhanced exams are screened (this may take many days), move to noncon.
Begin with the oldest exam.
If you do not find any emergent/ urgent finding. Close the study and assign to zzzscreen.
If you find an urgent/ emergent finding, contact the clinical team and dictate the study. Send to Rad Chest.
If you have a question, contact the on call ED radiologist, dictate the exam and send to ED rad you spoke to
