4) Healthcare Resilience - AI Approach

Building Public Health Resilience: An Early Warning System using Artificial Intelligence

Project duration: 2020 - 2021

Budget: £300K

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been increasingly used in healthcare, particularly with the fast-paced growth of high-performance and deep learning techniques. The moulding of AI, Geographic Information System (GIS), meteorological data, and case records is becoming a powerful tool to provide accurate, efficient, and productive insights into climate-sensitive diseases.

The project will tackle the challenges of health sector by applying Internet of Thing (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase the adaptive capacity of the Health Sector in Vietnam. The proposed low-cost technological solution will be piloted to provide:

  • An early warning system for prioritized climate-sensitive diseases (dengue fever, influenza, diarrhea).
  • A real-time monitoring and tracking of the spread of diseases for a faster and more efficient response to the outbreak.
  • A real-time recommendation system that can recommend the best controlling measure.
