Trung Q. Duong  currently is a Reader (Associate Professor) at Queen's University Belfast, UK. He received PhD degree in Telecommunications Systems from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden in September 2012. He has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the 77th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC) 2013, IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2014, IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2016, IEEE Digital Signal Processing (DSP) 2017. 
His current research interests include:
    • IoT to disaster management, agriculture, hydrometeorological  hazards, smart grid
    • 5G networks: small-cell networks, ultra-dense networks, HetNetsphysical layer securitymassive MIMO, cell-free massive MIMOcaching and energy-harvesting communications  
    • nanoscale, molecular communications networks

He has published approximately 300 technical papers (including 171 ISI journals and 130 conferences) in these topics. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is awarded the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Research Fellowship (2016 - 2021). His mentors and academic collaborators of this RAEng research fellowship are Prof. Lajos Hanzo and Prof. H. Vincent Poor . He has won the prestigious Newton Prize 2017 in the UK.
