Highlights of the Summer 2020 Photography Challenge

See in color. Look again in black and white. Use with your imagination to see differently -- and share your vision! This is what we are each seeing while social distancing during COVID-19 summer of 2020 .

2021 Snowflake Storm Art Show

Several girls in the troop participated in the Service Unit Snowflake Storm Art Show in February 2021. Three scouts won Best in Show for their entries from our troop:. Congrats to F, C, and H!

2021 Encampment at Home BINGO Challenge

Our troop worked to develop and refine an activity for the entire Service Unit: 2021 Encampment at Home in Arlington BINGO. It was designed to accommodate COVID public health protocols and GSCNC requirements by keeping troops in small groups.

The activities are designed for all levels and do require some pre-planning to ensure supplies are available. To win at the game, you just have to play five across, down, or diagonal.

Our Service Unit 60-5 is covering the cost of making patches in the official GSUSA colors with the Arlington skyline, a camping tent and the year! The Encampment weekend was planned for April 30-May 2, 2021.

Over 140+ Girl Scouts from Arlington and Alexandria are registered to participate. We hope everyone has a great experience with 2021 Encampment at Home.

But there is always more we can do ... like Bridging to Seniors, organizing a Service Unit Lacey Woods campfire for Fall 2021, planning a Broadway themed year of performances, bird watching, Billy Goat Trail hiking,  exploring an introduction to knitting, exploring invasive plant removal with Fairfax County,  participating with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation waterways projects in 2022, thinking seriously about international trips, and anything that we come up with planning!
