The purpose of the Scouting America—incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916—is to provide an educational program for boys and girls to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
Troop 163 serves the Ballard Community School District (Slater, Huxley, Kelley, Sheldahl, and Cambridge, IA) and is sponsored by the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater Iowa.
We have a Family Troop for boys AND girls!
Troop meetings are held on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater unless otherwise noted. There are usually 1-2 troop meetings each month plus a campout.
