From your President, Trey Bull “the man of the Christmas hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour.”
The Christmas Party held last Friday night at the Fort Worth Boat Club was a total success. We had a record crowd there for a Christmas Party. Many, many thanks to everyone that came. A special thanks goes out to our top girls and board members Wanda Spriggs & Cindy Herbig for organizing and executing this event. Francis Butler at the Fort Worth Boat Club also came through with decorations and cost breaks for us.
The Chef, Matthew Weber prepared a wonderful buffet for us that I thought was wonderful. It was nice for a change to break off the traditional steak dinner we usually have at this event.
Member Jim “Bull Simmons reports in that he’s been on the water everyday since he landed in New Zealand on Dec 1. He was invited to join The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Home Squadron of The America’s Cup.
Now a member. Here Jim was on General George S. Patton’s Yacht that he sailed to/from Hawaii in the 1930s.
It’s a 1930 John Alden Built 67’ (Gaff Rigged originally) Schooner. Jim wishes he could get her on Eagle Mountain Lake, LOL. He wishes he could have gotten to the Christmas Party to see y’all but he was busy having fun around the world. He wants me to tell you hello to each and every one of you. Just to refresh some of you guys memories and to the new members, Jim gave us this boat.
