ACP10(12) - Connected & Automated Vehicles Subcommittee

The Regional TSMO Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) subcommittee advances research and dialogue to address the inter-jurisdictional aspects of the deployment of connected and autonomous vehicles, for the benefit of the transportation industry and to more effectively realize the safety and mobility benefits of modern transportation technology.
Scope of the CAV subcommittee includes the following:
Support other Regional TSMO subcommittees and other TRB committees when they encounter issues related to CAV, by:
Serving as a sounding board to consider the impact of CAV on the other subject matter issues.
Proposing and overseeing research projects to address CAV impacts on other transportation subjects, modes, interactions, and across jurisdictions.
Providing resources for other committees and subcommittees to educate and inform members of CAV topics and advancements, such as:
Technical papers
Webinars
Workshops
Circulars
Web-based resources
Promote and advance the discussion of the “inter-jurisdictional” issues associated with CAV research and implementation.
Consider partnering/support the efforts of the National Operations Center of Excellence, particularly in this space of CAV and inter-jurisdictional issues.
Fill the gaps in CAV research not being covered through other CAV entities or initiatives both within TRB and in the transportation industry in general.

The CAV subcommittee will be held on Tuesday, January 10 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Marriott Marquis, Marquis Salon 13 (M2)
I'd like to invite folks who will be at TRB this year to join me at the Regional TSMO (ACP10) CAV Subcommittee meeting at the TRB Annual meeting. I am actively looking for a new co-chair/chair and we'll be discussing a few business items, like updates to our part of the triennial plan, and upcoming opportunities to engage on this topic in 2023. We will also be hearing from our special guest, Thomas Bamonte, Senior Program Manager for Technology & Innovation, North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). Thomas will be sharing info about three really awesome efforts he has going in his region. The title of his presentation is, “Seeing is Believing: Three TSMO Initiatives in DFW.” Plan to be there Tuesday night, January 10 from 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM in Marriott Marquis, Marquis Salon 13 (M2) to hear more!
