Committee Awards

Purpose – To formally recognize outstanding achievement in hazardous materials transportation research, innovation, regulation, or management. Awards will be granted on an annual basis and presented to awardees at the TRB annual meeting in January during the committee meeting.

Awards – The following committee awards are available for nomination:

  1. Outstanding Paper, Research, or Contribution Award - This award is granted on an annual basis and recognizes outstanding hazardous materials transportation research (current year); and

  2. The Charlie H. Hochman Outstanding/Lifetime Achievement Award - This award is granted on an annual basis and recognizes outstanding/lifetime achievement in the advancement of hazardous materials transportation research, innovation, regulation, or management.

Nominations – Nominations will be accepted until October 31 every year. Nominations should be made using the attached nomination form. Supporting documentation should also be submitted with the nomination form when applicable (e.g. resumes, papers, research results, etc.). Nominations may be submitted via e-mail to Committee Awards Coordinator, Dr. Britain Bruner.
