The 1st project: creating the subcluster Transilvania Tastes / 2015 (click)

Our first project is initiated in collaboration with the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca FSTA. On 8th of March 2015, we started a subcluster of Transilvania Lifestyle to cover the filed in gastronomy – culinary arts and nutrition – health and we named it Transilvania Tastes.

The cluster is formed by 21 members: 12 SMEs, 2 Large Companies, 4 owners’ associations, 2 universities/reasearch-innovation centers, 1 local public authority.

The members agree to work together in order to achieve the following specific objectives:

1.To develop activities and to implement projects in order to improve the innovation and global competitiveness, in particular in the case of SMEs and of research, development and innovation units;

2.To apply advanced technologies, to test and validate the research results, the prototypes etc.

3.To provide services like consulting, training, coaching, design and other services assured by the cluster members;

4.To provide practical training for students, young people, workers from different sectors in order to update and enhance their knowledge in areas related to gastronomy and culinary arts, quality of life and lifestyle in line with new trends, standards and technologies in the field;

5.To increase the interaction between member organizations through optimization of communication inside and outside the Cluster;

6.To encourage the membership of the new entrepreneurs, freelancers, companies, SMEs and research, development and innovation units by strengthening and promoting the national and international image of the Cluster;

7.To participate in and to organize exhibitions of gastronomy such as “Festivalul Alimentelor” (The Food Festival of the University for Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary from Cluj-Napoca), in order to promote companies where students can perform activities like: internship, BA and MA theses etc. Also, to organize together with Transilvania Business Center < The International Culinary Festival “Gusturi si Arome Transilvane” (Transilvania Tastes and Aroma);

8.To participate in activities performed by other Clusters or by local, regional, national, European and international consortia with the purpose of project implementation in the field of gastronomy and culinary arts, health, sensory development, quality of life, lifestyle, citizen protection and environmental planning, research, development and innovation etc.:

9.To develop the international cooperation with similar companies, organizations and institutions interested in gastronomy, culinary arts, nutrition, health, improved quality of life and lifestyle.

Based on this model, we are looking foreward to create new subclusters in different areas of lifestyle and to support their development.

A goup of top specialists from universities an research sector, togather with experts from Cluj-Napoca companies and organisations, designed 15 projects in accordance with the recomandation of the EU specialists

Creative Industries in the field of Culture and Art of Living

I. Transylvania Lifestyle Cluster have gathered 7 innovative projects relate to creative industries in the field of culture and art, which helps to support the quality of life and style of living in Cluj Napoca. We are interested in partnerships and different financing opportunities of the projects.

These projects have specific elements of Cluj-Napoca that generate added value and sustainability, are innovative / creative and integrate themselves into the tradition of the bi-millenary town.

The specificity of the projects is:

• IBI: Internationalization - Business, Innovation / Creativity;

• Quality of life and style of living;

• Creative, multicultural, multisensory, multidisciplinary industries;

• Implementation of projects by Transylvanian Clusters;

• Involvement of cultural centers and international cooperation centers;

• Invite twinned towns for internationalization and European dimension;

• Use IT - digital and technological composition: SCIENCE-to-CULURE, for example:

- Multicultural Smart City

- Multimedia and Multisensory Culture

- Cultural Virtualization

- ROBOtailor

- Own domains for virtual spaces and web development

- The introduction of new concepts of quality of culture, comfort, relaxation, pleasure and art of living, required by the citizens, entrepreneurs and consumers of culture and art, which we call:

CULTainment, ARTainment, EDUtainment and HighTech Culture.

The projects are carried out together with specialists of high value from universities and companies from Cluj-Napoca. They contain valuable ideas to our community perspective in the 3rd decade of the 3rd millennium.

Creatve&Smart INDUSTRIES for "Development-through-Culture"

1. "Anticipate Cluj! Digital Content - Multimedia Cluj Culture Days "/ JANUARY

Initiators: UBB-FSPAC- Journalism Dpt Invited as co-organisers: UTCN, UAD, Academy of Music, APM, Transylvanian Clusters, Cluj Napoca Hall , Cluj County Council, Prefecture, Government of Romania -ministries ADR-NV, EEN-UTCN, associations, institutions, companies from Cluj and from twin cities of Cluj, from the country and abroad, etc.

The program will include:

1.1. International Conference: "Beyond Media Convergence - Multicultural Multimedia in Cluj"

The conference will include plenary sessions with exposures and debates, as well as thematic workshops.

1.2. International exhibition "Content 4 Screens - Transylvania Multimedia Equipment Show" (B2B, B2C, ICT equipment and media services useful in the production of digital media for television; demo functionality / services / techniques and ability of testing (ex. Samsung, Nikon, Canon, Evolio etc.).

1.3. "Content ++" - Contest for digital media products (media production, video reports, visual essays, photo reportages, audio reports, portraits made by Romanian students and foreigners) -with recommendation to use / integrate elements of geo-location for integration into digital platforms/ augmented reality projects.

1.4. "V for Visual" -International festival of student-visual production with public screenings in cinema, judging made by media professionals at national / international workshops / master classes of visual production.

1.5. "Digital Content Production" -ERASMUS Teaching Week: lectures and workshops with teachers and students from partner universities on the theme of education and culture media in the next decade of the 21st century.

Participants: approx. 900 (of which 500 in Cluj and Transylvania, 250 in the country, 150 from abroad), of which 100 specialists directly involved in the project, and a large audience.

Estimated cost: 250,000 euro

2. Transylvania International Lifestyle Week: "Culture and Art of Living" /

Initiators: UAD, UMF, UTCN, UBB, Academy of Music, Dance Schools, Invited as co-organisers: Romanian Opera, Hungarian Opera, Puppet Theatre, Cluj Napoca Hall, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture, ADR NV, EEN-UTCN, APM, Transylvanian clusters and other interested institutions and companies in Cluj and from the twin cities of Cluj Napoca.

The program will include:

• Lifestyle International Conference (communications, workshops, awards, diplomas);

• International Lifestyle Fair –NAPOCCENSIS-International Exhibition for improving quality of life and art of living (exhibits, B2B, B2C, contests, prizes, diplomas);

• Transylvania Multicultural Carnival and Dance Festival (attending dance schools from Cluj, from the Puppet Theatre, others, presentation of costumes, dances and music, contests, prizes, diplomas) ;

• Transylvania Fashion Festival (fashion show, contests, prizes, diplomas);

•The Great Ball of Operas (artistic show, awards, diplomas, trophies).

Participants: approx. 1200 (of which 700 in Cluj and Transylvania, 350 from the country, 150 from abroad) Costs: 350.000 euro

3. Jazz appreciation Month in Cluj-Napoca

Initiators: Transylvania Cultural Community-EUROPE JAZZ NETWORK, Invited as co-organisers: Students Cultural House, Academy of Music, UBB, Romanian Opera, Hungarian Opera, Schools of Music, Cluj Napoca Hall, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture, ADR NV, EEN-UTCN, APM, Transylvanian clusters and other interested institutions and companies from Cluj and from the twin cities of Cluj Napoca.

The program will include:

• Europe Jazz Network Conference: Annual Meeting of jazz events organizers from Europe, carried out by EUROPE JAZZ NETWORK (presentations, debates, music therapy, showcase, master classes with: specialists, aestheticians, Romanian and foreign artists, European organizers, etc.); jazz concerts.

• International Exhibition “Napocensis Music" for musical instruments, audio-video systems, antiques, books, music, DVD, CD, camera, film, HighTech, music software, services for organization of shows and CULTainment (workshops, B2B B2C, contests, prizes, diplomas); jazz.

• youth and students festival "Jazz NAPOCENSIS" jazz concerts.

• UNESCO International Jazz Day 2021-edition 10th / April 30, 2021; jazz show.

Participants: approx. 1100 (of which 700 from Cluj and Transylvania, 250 from the country, 150 from abroad) and a large audience.

Estimated cost: 250,000 euro

4. Transylvanian Style Days "Styling Culture and Costume Art"

Initiators: UAD, Academy of Music, Transylvania College Invited as co-organisers: Romanian Opera, Hungarian Opera, schools of art, Children's Palace, UMF, UTCN, UBB, USAMV, APM, clusters Transylvania, Cluj Napoca Hall, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture, ADR NV, EEN-UTCN, associations, schools, interested institutions and companies from Cluj and twin cities.

The program will include:

• International Conference of Transylvanian Style (presentations, workshops, B2B, B2C, awards, diplomas);

• Gala and International Art Exhibition, Design and Creative Industries (presentation of products, B2B, B2C, contests, prizes, diplomas).

• Folk Fashion Festival (presentations of creators and designers, contests, prizes, diplomas).

• European Festival of Young Talents "Transylvania Talents" offered to young people in music, arts, dance, ballet, other areas of culture and art (presentations, contests, prizes, diplomas).

Participants: approx. 900 (of which 500 in Cluj and Transylvania, 250 from the country, 150 from abroad) and a large audience.

Estimated cost: 250,000 euro

5. Days of European Cultural Centers in Transylvania, initiators: UBB-CCI, Cluster Transylvania Lifestyle. Invited as co-organisers: Cluj Napoca City Hall, consulates and other interested institutions and companies from Cluj and twin cities.

The aim is to present the lifestyle of cultures that the cultural centers of Transylvania represent.

A series of events envisaged in this particular context include:

- Conferences and workshops on multicultural topics;

- Volumes launches with specific topics of relations between Romania and partner countries;

- Open-air theater performances;

- Dance performances;

- Traditional gastronomic evenings;

- Photo exhibitions on the theme of bilateral relations;

- Autumn School themed on intercultural translation;

Participants: approx. 500 (of which 300 from Cluj and Transylvania, 100-country, 100- abroad) and a large audience.

Estimated cost: 100,000 euro

6. International Festival of Lifestyle of the Twin Cities co-organized together with the Cluj Napoca City Hall, APM, Transylvanian clusters, associations, schools, universities, institutions and Transylvanian cultural centers , interested firms in partnerships with similar bodies from the twin cities, as well the EU cities with direct airlines and Transylvanian diaspora.

Organizing specific events to bring the lifestyle and creative industries of cities twinned and linked with Cluj-Napoca.

Participants: approx. 900 (500 from Cluj and Transylvania, 250 from the country, 150 from abroad)

Estimated costs: 250,000 euro

7.SCIENCE-to-Culture, developing Cluj cyberspace through innovative and sustainable projects, inviting UBB - FSPAC / Department of Journalism and others interested, ClujIT cluster, Transylvanian Clusters, Cluj institutions and organizations:

• Multi-Cultural Smart City developing the virtual platform common to Cluj Clusters on the following domains: ClujNapoca.ro, Kolozsvar.ro, Klausenburg.ro

Impact: millions of visitors from the country and the whole world

Estimated costs: 65,000 EUR

• Cluj CULTural Virtualization will require collaboration and program development of cults from Cluj-Napoca to use cyberspace and the online services offered by Transylvanian clusters, specialized in art and information and communication technology, the fields Hristis-Dumnezeu.ro, Isus-Cristor.ro, Ortodox-Catolic.ro, Diavolul.co, BisericaPenticostala.ro, Biserica-Baptista.ro, BisericaUnitariana.ro, UnitariusTemplom.ro, etc.

Visitors: millions of people in the country and the whole world;

Estimated costs: 65,000 EUR

II. Transylvania Taste Cluster have gathered 5 innovative projects relate to creative industries in the field of gastronomy culture and culinary art, which helps to support the quality of life and style of living in Cluj Napoca

Cluj-Napoca the Capital of Gastronomy Culture and Culinary Arts

Transylvania Taste Cluster is looking for creative and innovative cooperation in HighTech food processing, gastronomy, culinary arts, gastronomic tourism and life style.

We need partners for implementing the following international events:

1. International Gastronomy Culture and Culinary Arts Days - TRANSILVANIA TASTE

Local partners: CAT, APM, USAMV, UMF, UAD, UTCN, Academy of Music, UBB, Cluj Napoca Local Council, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture - decentralized units, ADRNV, EEN-UTCN, Transylvanian Clusters, institutions and companies, specialists from Transylvanian and the twin cities of Cluj-Napoca.

Foreign partners: to be identified and invited

The program will include:

 Conference of INTERNATIONAL Gastronomy Culture and Culinary Arts: "Transylvania Taste" (presentations, debates, workshops, B2B, B2C, awards, diplomas);

2. International Festival of TRADITIONAL Gastronomy and Culinary Arts - "Transylvania Flavour"

Local partners: CAT, APM, USAMV, UMF, UAD, UTCN, Academy of Music, UBB, Cluj Napoca Local Council, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture - decentralized units, ADRNV, EEN-UTCN, Transylvanian Clusters, institutions and companies, specialists from Transylvanian and the twin cities of Cluj-Napoca.

 The International Conference of TRADITIONAL gastronomy culture and culinary arts - "Transylvania Flavour" (presentations, debates, workshops, B2B, B2C, awards, diplomas).

 International Exhibition of the traditional gastronomy and culinary arts - "Transylvania Flavour" (B2B, B2C, contests, prizes, diplomas).

 International Competition of specialists: cook - confectioner - baker - culinary designers (awards, diplomas).

Participants: approx. 550 (of which 300 of Cluj and Transylvania, 125 fromRomania, 75 from abroad)

Estimated cost: 200,000 euro

3. European Week of Nutrition Art and Science

Local partners: CAT, APM, USAMV, UMF, UAD, UTCN, Academy of Music, UBB, Cluj Napoca Local Council, Cluj County Council, the Prefecture - decentralized units, ADRNV, EEN-UTCN, Transylvanian Clusters, institutions and companies, specialists from Transylvanian and the twin cities of Cluj-Napoca.

 International Exhibition for products, services and technologies for nutrition and food quality (B2B, B2C, contests, prizes, diplomas);

 International Contest of nutritionists, products and services for health and increased quality of life (awards, diplomas).

Participants: approx. 500 (of which 300 of Cluj and Transylvania, 125 from Romania, 75 from abroad)

4. International Center for Gastronomy Culture and Culinary Arts "TRANSYLVANIA TASTE" in Cluj-Napoca

Our beautiful heritage building in the City Center of Cluj-Napoca

We invite interested partners in the rehabilitation of an intelligent building, focused on creative industries linked with gastronomy and culinary arts; based on advanced technologies, able to improve the life quality and comfort, multi-sensory development and creativity of young designers.

Costs estimated: 10 millions EURO

5. eGastROBO: Robots for Gastronomy Culture and Culinary Arts

Cluj-Napoca, the Heart of Transylvania, has an ICT infrastructure and companies but the community needs advanced technologies and robots for improving the multi-sensory life quality and for implementing the European life style.

Gastronony Culture and Culinary Arts are developing rapidly in Cluj-Napoca due to the internationalization of the traditional cuisine. The new concepts, tastes, flavors, design and trends brought from Europe, America, Asia, Africa, Oceania, are completing the multi-sensory and multi-cultural preferences of the Transylvanians and especialy of the "Clujenilor".

Transylvania Taste Cluster have members and specialists able to implement, test-and-validate prototypes and systems, as well we need to be involved in the creative IR&D projects proposed by EU partners.
