Texas Instruments Incorporated

This document gives a first hand account of the two major developments by Texas Instruments in 1954 by those that led the company and its research at the time. In addition the account includes an excellent summary of how Texas Instruments became engaged in semiconductors by its CEO of that time, Pat Haggerty.

In making the presentations Pat Haggerty said "One of the most important aspects of our strategy, as I commented, was proof that transistors could be made, that we could make them, that they would work and that they could be made in large quantities . It was that conviction and the efforts of many people that led to the collaboration between Regency and TI. And so I’d like to invite TIers Paul Davis, Roger Webster, Jim Nygaard, Elmer Wolff and Bud Harris to come up, and then from IDEA, Floyd Hayhurst. Dick Koch and Ed Tudor."
