Deepest thanks and appreciation for Tom Bentley, editor and friend. He edits, he teaches, he inspires. He's also a topping writer, one who plumbs the heights as well as the depths of the human experience. Not to mention its humour. I never could have created this work without him.

Fellow authors: I always imagined that editing a novel would be a tedious and painful process. Tangled up in dangled participles, cross at the un-crossed Ts, besotted at all the un-dotted Is. Well, not with Tom Bentley at the helm. I found the editing process to be a superb learning experience, and more fun than writing my book in the first place. Creating a work of fiction is a bold leap into the unknown, scary and meaningful and gobsmacking fun all at the same time. But when it's done, now you have something. The work exists, its events really happened, and the characters are people you know intimately. So it seems, anyway. In fact, so it is.
And editing with a trusted guide means you hone and cut and splice and repair and hone again until your creation grows from something rough-hewn and raw into a gleaming yarn that's ready for the world to experience.
Grateful for my cover artist Alicia Neal. I love her work, and I cherish our conversations. She is such a remarkable artist. I get lost in every work she creates.
Fellow authors: Alicia's painting is one of the few tangible artifacts that link me to Gack's world. She truly listened to me and brought something meaningful out of that world. If you are seeking a cover artist, consider Alicia Neal. She is that rare person who has the listening skills, the intuition and the technical proficiency to bring your writing to life in a painting.
