"Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe" We're dividing the achievement into three parts:
Staying Safe, (2/4)
Keeping Fit, (2/11)
and Living Healthy (3/4)
Part 1: "Staying Safe" will include planning for being prepared for emergency, knowing what to do, and how to use good judgement. We will make First-Aid Kits, we will discuss family meeting spots in an emergency. We will work on "meeting spot" and "evacuation" plans as take home activities for our households. Included will be Family Phone Contact Lists and Emergency Check Lists). Randy will cover this activity for this meeting.

Part 2: "Keeping Fit" will focus on exercise and sports as well as planning enough sleep to keep up our energy. We had a "Go See It" attending a basketball game watching Kyle play his first game at Dodson Elementary. Also we'll want to learn the object and rules of the sport we want to observe.
We will take a peek at a basketball game in session on Thursday in the Gallimore Gym. Mr. Kearney will instruct us on the rules and features of the sport: basketball.

Part 3: "Living Healthy" is being led by Mrs. McKimmy featuring our choices in diet (Food Pyramid) and developing good food habits as well as putting it together with excercise.
Possible "Go See It" for this topic could include a visit to a gymnastics gym or/and a "progressive dinner".
Possible April or MayTiger Cub Event Idea:
A progressive dinner "Go See It" could combine our "Family" Achivement Event with a "Healthy Living" and "Community:Where We Live" Achievement elements. The boys would help plan a course of the progessive dinner. Each scout will be a "course-host", helping plan, setting-up, and being a host. We "progess" with family to each house for each course of the dinner until all four courses are served: Appetizer, Salad and Fruit, Main Course, and Dessert. Planning of this event would require an agreement of a good date which would work best for all households based on schedule and household comfort level. We can pot-luck some items at various courses to supplement larger courses. Each course would be appropriate in time to travel between each of the houses for dining and a visit. Family siblings can be included in this event.
