EXAMPLE 1
INTRODUCTION
Abraham Lincoln, president during the Civil War, once stated “those who deny freedom deserve it not for themselves.” This statement about freedom was made in response to the South’s desire to own slaves. Slavery, along with many other issues, lead to the outbreak of the Civil War. The causes of the Civil War were economic differences, slavery, and the election of Abraham Lincoln.
CONCLUSION
Economic differences, slavery, and the election of Abraham Lincoln were the causes of the Civil War. Although the North and South lost many lives, our country learned a valuable lesson. That lesson, first proposed by President Abraham Lincoln, is that freedom cannot be controlled nor should it be denied.
EXAMPLE #2
INTRODUCTION
A mother holds their child's hand for a short time, but their hearts they hold forever. Mother's are incredibly important to a child, as they are responsible for the development of the child. My mother, is an incredibly important person responsible for my personal development. As a result, my mother has had a significant influence on me because she taught me sharing, love, and kindness.
CONCLUSION
Because my mother taught me sharing, love, and kindess, she has had a significant influence on me. Today, I am no longer a child, and my mother's daily influence is not as strong as it was while I was growing. Therefore, I may not hold her hand like I did as a child; however, because of her lessons, she will forever hold my heart.
