The 74 (Tigers) Squadron, RAF

So it all began, decades ago, with a Matchbox 1/72 BAC Lightning F6...

Back in the day, I had avoided the natural metal finish like Songs of Praise on a Sunday evening and normally would've opted for the green-painted version. However, such was the lure of that black fin, complete with tiger's head and that smart black and yellow flash, that I was hooked. Of course, once that was my scheme of choice, I had to then research the Squadron and was wholly impressed.

Whizz forward to just a few years back and, after resurrecting my modelling hobby and beginning to re-build my collection, I found that good old 74 appeared to inhabit my growing Stash. Trawling the internet, I then discovered a whole lot more research to digest and, happily, a plethora of suitable kits with which to do the Squadron some modelling justice.

Then Xtradecal brought out their 74 Squadron History sheet and my Project took wing.

This Gallery is the result of some 10 years of modelling and is still a work in progress...
