HELP WITH CANCER
1) Reduce inflammation and raise your immunity.
Your body can and will fight the sickness of cancer providing it is not battling major inflammation at the same time. Inflammation is directly related to diet. A diet rich in omega3 foods and turmeric will contribute greatly to bringing this under control. Omega 3 is an anti-inflammatory substance and Omega 6 is an inflammatory substance. Both these substances are essential to the human body but the western diet O3:O6 ratio averages at 1:20 ratio. The correct ratio for optimum health is 3:6. Many additives, colorings and preservatives increase inflammation so food should also be as 'clean' as possible. MSG is particularly damaging as it causes lesions on the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus drives all your endocrine systems – and a working endocrine system is vital to the immune system. Cut out all sugar (except for fruit) – not only is sugar a major inflammatory substance but it literally feeds the cancer cells more than any substance in the body. Cancer cells carry 15 times the insulin receptors that normal cells carry. If you cut out the sugar – they starve. Fat will give you the energy you need and give your body the 'grease' it needs to get things moving again - butter, dripping, olive oil, flax oil. Avoid all other oils like the plague and stay away from corn and soy. The modern preparations for soy create a product that over stimulates female hormones causing imbalance and inflammation – even in men.
2) Nutrition
Go back to home grown heritage/heirloom varieties and old foods if you can. Many of the modern foods no longer provide the anti-cancer nutrients you need. Apples that don’t go brown when you cut them for example, have had the pectin bred out of them. Pectin is the powerful anti-oxidant responsible for the ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ idiom. Supermarket bought foods are often contaminated with a variety of fungicides, pesticides and even weedkiller (root vegetables are grown in roundup-contaminated soil). Be aware also that organically grown food means no sprays – it doesn’t mean ‘no Roundup’ and it rarely means ‘heritage variety’. Some foods are especially high in nutrients and antioxidants specific to fightCertain nuts and seeds should be included every day as well....chia, sesame, brazil nuts, walnuts and almonds in particular. Brazil nuts are high in Selenium and NZ soils are deficient in it. A lack of Selenium is a major culprit in bowel cancers.
3) Acidity
The western diet leaves the body acidic. In order to beat disease, it must be slightly alkaline. In the mornings take a little something to start your body off on an alkaline start. Some people use a bit of baking soda in water (careful if you have high blood pressure) and some people use a squeeze of lemon in water and some people use apple cider vinegar. Alkaline foods are kumara, broccoli, garlic, bananas, green tea...some lists are a bit manic to tell you the truth so see what you think there. 4) Meditate
Stress kills and is a major contributor to many diseases. Emotional turmoil and pain will also affect the body. For example.....stomach ulcers are well documented as the result of stress. In adults almost all diseases are the physical manifestation of emotional pain - or more precisely the heart and mind. So....if healing is what you want - you must start to examine the feelings and thoughts that may be contributing to your condition. In this day and age, the best place to start for that is meditation. Meditation will slow your mind and help to heal your heart. Meditation on actually being healthy can also provide some extraordinary assistance. There has been some fascinating work done in quantum theoretical physics that studies the effect of emotional energy. 5) Medicinal assistance
Kawakawa (Macropiper excelsum) is more commonly used for UTIs and poor kidney function but in fact it is one of the best all round herbs to use. It is an anti-inflammatory, a blood-cleanser and a body-balancer (helps for a heart full of sorrow as well). It is also a slight sedative so for disorders relating to anxiety and depression it is very useful. Pick the leaves with the holes - that is where the best medicine is. It should also be picked in the morning. Just a few leaves in a cup with some hot water (not boiling) and leave to steep for 10 minutes.
Garden Violet: anti-inflammatory and anti-tumour....chuck it in with your Kawakawa.
Lemon Balm: anti-viral and immunity booster.....chuck it in with your Kawakawa.

Resveratrol: a powerful anti-cancer anti-oxidant. See if you can get hold of some resveratrol, a very powerful anti-cancer substance, from your health store. It naturally occurs in good quality red wine but they do sell it as a powder too if you don't want the wine....just an inch of wine in a cup a day will be enough.
Turmeric: Turmeric is highly medicinal in many ways. It is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatories known to man. Traditionally it is taken with uncooked honey and/or mixed into cooked raw milk. It works quite well just dropped into a smoothie.
Nuts and Seeds: Brazil nuts in particular, provide Selenium which is completely lacking in NZ soils. This is the same reason as to why we have such a high rate of bowel cancer in our country. Superfood seeds and nuts should be included (especially chia) because they are nutrient dense and full of good quality fats and fatty acids.

Sleep and sunshine: A healthy immune system is not possible without good quality sleep and plenty of sunshine.
