The Maori Oracle by Les on Amazon UK
I read a review on amazon.co.uk and was intrigued. the 5 cards you can find depicted with the box there, weren't enough really for me to make a choice. But being a Kiwi I felt I should simply go and buy this deck. OK, skip that bit :-) - I received my deck set very quickly and was delighted with that. On opening the box, skipped blithely through the book, then went back and started reading through it, and finally got round to opening the deck itself and went through it card by card. The book depictions are in grey, black and white. The earlier review already said it - but I'd like to add, that this beautiful deck, each card an individual and beautifully rendered, the quality of cards is very good and will last for a long time, that together with all the information in the book, it's really a well worth the buy. It felt so much like *home*, the Maori language itself is not a bother, if you have little or no knowledge of it, because the words/meanings are translated & listed in the book, the card texts are kept to just naming the cards, so do not distract you - they're pretty, refreshingly true and powerful, and lovely to work with. 5 Stars are not enough really, to compliment this beautiful deck and book. A gift that will delight any card lover. Kind regards, L.B.
Listening to My Ancestors by Nitpicker1 on Amazon.com
"The Maori Oracle was a project that I was following on Facebook right before it was published by Schiffer. I was intrigued by the artwork, depicting the natural world of the Maori people and their beautiful country. I wanted this oracle deck to be more than a one-from-column-A, one-from-column-B patchwork of philosophy and practice. And in wanting that, I set a pretty high bar for the Maori Oracle to jump.
The Oracle and I have been living together for a couple of months now. We're developing a very deep bond. The framework might be Maori-based, but the application is Universal. The cards themselves demand respect. After all, they are being used to help you contact your Ancestors. There are rules that must be followed in order to show the cards, and the Spirits, that you are there to listen, and that you are showing them the honor they deserve. That can be a bit intimidating for most Westerners. The effort, however, is well worth the result.
The cards themselves are beautiful. They are colorful and easy to use. The ceremony to consult them is simple. And the information to be gleaned is priceless. The advice from the Ancestors is always pertinent, always loving, and always incredibly simple (in the best way possible). (My first reading was so on-the-mark that I actually yelled "DUH!" then burst out laughing.) The companion book is a treasure in itself, full of facts and stories about the Maori and their way of life.
If you are fascinated by different cultures and in search of your own Ancestral roots, I suggest you look at The Maori Oracle. I will admit that it will not be to everyone's taste. Westerners tend to ignore their Elders and forget their manners. But if you are an adventurer willing to show the respect this deck, and your Ancestors, are due, you will be richly rewarded for your diligence."

"I would just like to say that these cards feel wonderful in my hands! I love the feel of them; they’re not too big or small but just right. I love the artwork on the pictures, very beautiful. Whenever I pull them out to read for friends they look amazed because they've never heard of them before. They also have told me that they've been accurate for them too.
I like that they are not slippery like some cards can be they shuffle nicely. I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with this deck. I feel like I have stepped into a soft, kind, magical little world when I use them. I am connecting with this deck really well, and definitely recommend it." READ THE FULL REVIEW HERE!

"What I came away from this review with is a sense that there are many ways to access the Sacred, Spirit and your Ancestors. I’m intrigued with New Zealand’s traditions and the guidebook has been an adventure in a culture that I find fascinating. This deck has a mellow, warm energy to it and in my opinion would be suitable for anyone to work with." READ THE FULL REVIEW HERE!

One of the great things about this deck is that it can be used by individuals from any culture or tradition to reconnect with their own heritage and ancestors. The cards act as a pathway, or conduit, for messages from the other side … from one’s own ancestors. What a great thing to know that we are not alone! This deck is very gentle, and can easily be used by people of all ages, including children. A welcome tool of empowerment for those looking for personal growth." READ THE FULL REVIEW HERE!

Will You Camoflage Today?
Today’s card is from a brand new oracle deck from Schiffer. It’s the Maori Oracle by P.A. Minnell. This is one of those decks where you actually DO need the book.

Today’s card is not a Tarot card. It is from a new oracle that honors a specific way of life. I’ve specifically chosen this card because it’s a reminder I need today. You see, I’ve been suffering (and making everyone around me suffer along with me) from a back issue. I’m going to have an MRI done. The procedure includes…CONTINUE READING...

I’ve mentioned the Maori Oracle (Schiffer Books) by P.A. Minnell before. I did this video review
last week or so. In that review, I laughed about a card that leapt out of the group I’d chosen to
talk about. I said she didn’t want to be seen. Well, I’ve been pulled to this oracle a lot but haven’t
done anything……CONTINUE READING...

Traditional Maori thinking presents us with three sources of knowledge. First there is the experience of our senses.
Secondly there is our understanding of what lies behind our sense experience. Thirdly there is the experience we have,
particularly in ritual, of our oneness with each other and with the past. These three sources of knowledge are spoken
of as the three baskets of knowledge brought down from the heavens.
Basket One: Te Kete Aronui knowledge of the physical world. This kete is filled with KOREKE - Self truth, be as you
must: In ones own personal universe one must walk a path that is best for them.……CONTINUE READING...
