Union Tool Chest Co., Rochester, NY. 1918 – 1928
In 1918 Works changed their name to the above. Gilman N Perkins was president. In 1924 the ADFC woodworking shop was sold to Artwood Shops Inc., a furniture manufacturer. Artwood continued building chests and cases for the above company into 1926. Union placed a contract, in 1926, with The Pilliod Co.in OH (I believe, no proof) to supply all of their machinist wood tool case and chest requirements.
(“In the early 1920’s a steel fabricating division was added and the company placed the first mass-produced steel tool boxes on the market.”)
