Problem and Solution
Fiction stories often have a problem, or something that needs to be fixed, that happens to the main character or characters. The solution is the way that the problem gets fixed. There can even be more than one problem and solution in a story. A problem in a story can be a true problem, and bad for the character, or it can just be something that the character needs to do or to figure out. The problem and solution and the sequence of events make up a story's plot.
