Final day!
Kick start challenge and rob wins hands down, myself and chris both on 7.
Destination today home!
Today we were back through Hawes onto Settle, Clitheroe and finally Preston.
Calling in Hawes we all stocked up on treats for the wives and children.
The day started well for rob, but after an hour or so it was dead again. I led the way till chris ran out oil, and he decided to wait for the roadside relay team to fill him up. I was then flying solo till stopping at the side to wait for chris( about 20mins). Arriving in Clitheroe chris said my bike had got a bit smokey. A quick wee stop and sure enough the death cough was closing in on the yellow peril.
Setting off on the A59 after filling up with fuel, old rick was concerned if the police came they would probably ban me fom driving as the smoke was bellowing across both lanes!
Robs bike was running again, an so we set off to ribchester. Waiting at the lights robs bike nearly died but after a sound like a gunshot he was off again never to stop!
All went well till chris thought it would be funny to stick his finger up my exhaust which made me rev harder, bounce the bike off its stand and nearly hit the Car in front, oh how we laughed about that.
4 miles from home and robs bike died again. Determined to get some points he set off pushing it as per challenge. Not to be out done and to show solidarity me and chris also pushed ours!
At cottam chris had a go at starting robs bike and 40 kicks later it was off, till it died just at the entrance to the estate.
Arriving at Chris's house we were filmed coming in to claps and cheers.
After hand shakes, back slaps and the tea supplied by mrs c, it was time to go our separate ways.
My bike still starts but, it is v smokey. Now comes the decision to sell, save or scrap?
Final thought. Thanks to Chris for driving us to update this site, thanks to Rob for helping with bikes during tinker time leading up to the rally. A huge thanks to old Rick who without his help the rally would have taken about a month.
Thanks to the wives for there support, and all who have donated money / challenges and support (Tim for the filming)
