Last night was cold and wet, and it appeared everyone else had an equally poor night.
Today we are off to Robin hoods bay near Whitby.
All started well, as we all wanted bonus points from old rick for a kick start challenge. Myself and Rob were around the 3 to 4 kicks, but I lost count when Chris's got over 15!
Old rick waited for the old man to return his deposit while the 3 of us set off.
Along the way a bright motorcycle light appeared behind us and seemed to follow us to Leyburn! We later found out it was old ricks sister who decided to come out for a blast ( or I guess for her on a 600 bandit it was of a tick over! ).
Along the way we had to stop on hill and wait for the lights to change and this was too much for Robs bike as it gave up. Rob pushed queenie to Leyburn were he and Chris's spent around 1 1/2 hours trying to sort before calling it quits. Lynn supplied the rags, old rick supplied the coffees and I supplied the humour as there was nothing to clean!
With queenie strapped up myself and chris were off again, after saying good bye to Lynn.
On the way we hit a mammoth hill which my bike couldnt make so i had to push her up, but luckily on the way we stopped at Sandsend and took a dip in the north sea to cool down.
One of the challenges was to swim in each sea so old rick took photos to prove we did it. He also noticed dirty old perv's watching myself and Chris strip down to under cracks before going in.
After nearly getting killed by a taxi driver we finally arrived at our destination.
Much to old ricks dismay my trainers and sleeping bag had been drying out in the back of the Volvo and it started to make a wet dog / dead maggotty smell.
I borrowed Lynn's tent and felt like a kid who had had his bedroom painted.
We stopped at Home Ness Farm and the lady gave us a £5 discount towards the ABF fund
A quick play on old ricks power kite and we were off to the pubs.
It has to be said Robin hoods bay is a beautiful place.
Coming out of the pub and doning our head torches we set off home, a different way than we went in!
A good dry nights sleep was had!
