Spencer (he/him) is a first-year MSGP student at the UofM and is currently a research assistant in Dr. McDevitt-Murphy's lab. Spencer served four years of active duty in the United States Army and is currently serving in the Tennessee Army National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst. He graduated from Dyersburg State Community College with an A.S. in Psychology in 2022 and from the University of Memphis in May of 2024 with his B.A. in Psychology. Spencer's research interests involve evidence-based treatments for trauma and factors relating to resilience. He is also interested in the treatment and prevention of substance use disorders in the veteran population. His career plans include completing his master's degree and subsequently applying for the University of Memphis' Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program.
