Mission Statement
Our Mission, "being Christ's hands and feet in times of need", is the onsite presence of the compassionate, caring body of Christ in action.
The primary objectives of our Southwest Circuit Lutheran Early Response Team are:
Promoting organized volunteerism and recruiting team members from within circuit congregations
Working in conjunction with the Iowa District West District Disaster Response Coordinator
Providing basic L.E.R.T. certification training
Equipping the L.E.R.T. team with tools needed for effective disaster response
and most of all, giving Christian comfort and support
L.E.R.T. is a ministry of World Relief and Human Care, the mercy arm of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Our mission is to reach out in mercy and compassion to those in need, motivated by Christ and His Gospel. Acting as an instrument to extend the mercy of a loving God to others, we seek to alleviate human suffering and elevate the human condition by responding to emergencies and enabling struggling people to become self-sufficient by reaching out to people who are devastated by disaster.
