Flood Insurance in our area has been difficult to say the least. Unfortunately it appears that it was largely done by postcode / generic flood maps.
However, the Government's "Re" flood scheme is now in being seems to have changed things for the better by imposing a small levy on all buildings insurance and thus spreading the cost.
It is a "not-for-profit flood reinsurance fund - owned and managed by the insurance industry.
The scheme started in April 2016.
The pictures below also show that there are many people far worse off than we are !
