From the extant remains and manuscript depictions of chest it can be seen that chests were secured either with a hasp secured by a padlock or a lock with hasp, in some cases both.
The complexity of locks makes them more expensive than hasps and padlocks.
Hasp and hasp plates are provided as a cheaper alternative in the same shape and size as the historical examples.
Nails for the attachment of the fittings are included in the price, extra nails are also available:
