Good as jewellery or cash box.
This is a new item a reproduction of the Cumwhitton Viking Box
- the remains of a box with metal fittings and containing a series of objects was located at the foot of the burial. The occupant of the grave was thought to be female, as there were oval brooches that are always associated with high status female burials. The Box contained implements associated with textiles, such as a glass linen smoother, a lead spindle whorl, a comb, and a pair of shears.
While the box had a lock and a key was found in the grave, the box had no key hole and it remains a mystery as how the lock worked - We have done ours with a reverse hasp fitting
The Cumwhitton Viking Box in Pine with out strap $260 Aus plus postage and handling
The Leather strap extra ( price unknown at this stage )
