Reference Material

Matlab

    • Here is the official "Getting Started" online tutorial. It requires you to signup for a Mathworks account using an email address.
  • The main Matlab support and documentation page here also provides a wealth of information and reference material.

You can find some additional Matlab tutorials and reference material here and here.

Fourier Analysis

    • Fourier Analysis and its Applications, Gerald Folland, Brooks/Cole Publishing, 2010 (a pdf copy of the 2nd chapter can be found in the Documents page)
    • Here is the Stanford University EE261 course web page. You will find plenty of interesting material here - including slides, a book, references, exercises and much more. We recommend looking through the book - it is an informal read with many applications.
    • Spectral Methods for Time-Dependent Problems, Jan Hestahaven, Sigal Gottlieb and David Gottlieb, Cambridge University Press, 2007 - While this book primarily discusses spectral methods for PDEs, there are good discussions about Fourier spectral methods. (In particular, read through the chapter on the Gibbs phenomenon and Filtering)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    • Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Signal Processing Perspective, Zhi-Pei Liang and Paul Lauterbur, IEEE Press, 2000 (here is an online copy of the book through the MSU library)
    • Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Dwight Nishimura, Lulu Publishing, 2010 (a pdf copy of the 3rd chapter can be found in the Documents page)
    • Here is the course webpage for BIOE265: Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (by Miki Lustig, UC Berkeley). You will find more details and materials on the instrumentation and signal processing aspects of MR imaging.
