I really don't think anyone will try to develope OpenSouce game like Supreme (or better). Snowboard games just don't have future on PCs. Maybe I will try Tranworld snowboarding,SSX or other snowboard games on consoles :D.
But I would like to polygonize characters, make own textures... :(

I don't know if anyone has found this out yet but...
If you notice that when you play (Boarder Zone), the geometry of the level loads very close to your position pretty much making it look really ugly, you can change a value in the Detail_Config.txt to make it more detailed from afar.
ground_detail = 4; (before it was set to '3')
This works to an extent, but also screws up the geometry in the far distance (as well as in other places for some reason)
Also, you cannot put a decimal value (ie. 3.5) or the game won't run.
If anyone knows how to tweak this at all so it actually looks good and runs properly it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my fog won't work, even when I set the value to 1 in Detail_Config.txt and I'm playing in DirectX 6 mode.

1)
To enable fog in the Full version, install the Add-on, then select in the main menu:
Options - Graphics - Custom - Configure Custom - Fog.
2)
To enable fog in the Demo version, edit the file \Data\Detail.config.txt:
"enable_fog = 1;"
To disable fog in the Demo version, edit the file \Data\Detail.config.txt:
"enable_fog = 0;"

I tested it, but found no difference, except interrupts in the graphics.

I'm using the full version (retail) of Boarder Zone. I installed the patch, and I now get the option in the custom graphics menu, but when I check it, I still don't get fog ingame.
I've tried with fog set to both '1' and '0' in the Detail_Config.txt file, and I've run the game in DX6, DX6 and Open GL modes.
Are there any other values in an TXT files that I need to change?

On my machine when set to 4 it rendered the mountain geometry almost all at once so that there was no visible changing on the track right ahead of me (mind you, far away is kind of farked up).
Maybe you don't see that in the first place.. but it's very noticeable to me, you can see the track ahead of you get smoother and more detailed when the value is set lower than 4.

You have to set the fog parameters manually only in the Demo version, as described. DirectX 6 is alright. I heard it once that someone had no fog. He changed the computer, then he had fog. I don't know what went wrong, maybe an unsufficient graphics card.
By the way: There is no patch available for Boarder Zone. You surely mean the Add-on. In the original game the fog parameters are missing in some Level_Data.txt files. As far as I remember the Add-on fixes all those bugs. So I do not know the reason why you don't see fog.

Strange.. must be my computer.
I have an ATi Radeon X850 too, so there's no way my graphics card isn't up to snuff.
And yes by patch I mean that 'Add-on' patch.
Thanks for the help.

Test report:
(1) I installed Boarder Zone (before I tried with Supreme Snowboarding)
(2) I installed the Add-on to the folder of BoarderZ.exe
(3) I clicked through the menus to "Fog" and enabled "Fog" (no other changes)
(4) I started Alpine Easy (Canyon Run) and had fog!

As far as I understant, Hybrid won't release Surrender 3D, which is for them outdated and does not serve any purpose.
With such conditions, it's too hard to distribute it in free downlaod (or even buy it) :eek:
Perhaps it is possible tu use the DLLs joined with Supreme...

I've had this game (Boarder Zone) for a while, but stopped playing it about 3 years ago. Now I start it up again, but I get a certain startup error:
ERROR: an unknown exception.
Last kernel error:
typeid:class Housemarque::kernel::Error
What:<No message>
Expr: <No expression?}
File: E:\work\ht\EDGE\HMG_kernel\Impl\Error_Handling\Error.cpp
Line: 16
I went to www.supreme-snowboarding.tk and downloaded the patch and add-on, but when I tried installing the patch, I got another error:
This patch needs installation of Supreme Snowboarding (6)
I really want to start playing this again! Help please, thanks for any help.

The Housemarque patch is for Supreme Snowboarding only, not for Boarder Zone. There is no patch available and required for Boarder Zone.
The Add-on is made for Supreme Snowboarding, but you can also use it at Boarder Zone, just install to the folder of BoarderZ.exe. Delete the BoarderZ.exe afterwards and rename Supreme.exe to BoarderZ.exe (only Boarder Zone).
Recommended settings for the game (both games) see "Tips & Tricks" at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk
If there are still problems, I don't have a solution. Good luck.

You can buy the game (Supreme Snowboarding/Boarder Zone) for example at eBay or Amazon. I recommend to buy Supreme Snowboarding.
Or you can play the Demo version of Supreme Snowboarding.
