Sintiéndose culpable de haber tratado a Amanda con frialdad, Alexis acude a La Mirada y la encuentra inconsciente junto a un frasco vacío de barbitúricos. Obligándola a caminar, una arrepentida Alexis ruega a su hija que la perdone. En el hospital, Alexis y Blake guardan vigilia por Amanda, que está en coma. Aunque cada uno culpa al otro del intento de suicidio de su hija, reafirman su compromiso de destruirse mutuamente. Claudia confiesa a Krystle lo que de verdad piensa de ella: "Yo era una obra de caridad aquí y tú lo sabes: tener a la buena de Claudia cerca os hacía sentir superiores. Siempre me has fascinado: mientras los demás manipulan y poner a un hermano contra el otro, tú te quedas mirando con tu radiante aceptación pasiva. Permites todas las traiciones y eso te convierte en las más peligrosa de todos." Después, Krystle también debe escuchar las ironías de Alexis:
"No hay nada gratis en la vida. Tú, de toda la gente, debería saberlo. Después de todo, tú ya has pagado lo suficiente." Dominique propone a Garrett y los dos planean casarse. Steven teme perder la custodia de Danny si Sammy Jo se casa con Clay. Caress exige el 10 % por guardar silencio sobre lo de Emily. Ben accede, pero en secreto conspira para que Caress sea extraditada a Caracas. Alexis se dispone a exigir la devolución del préstamo de Blake. Alexis concierta una reunión el Ministro chino de Petróleo, pero no sabe que Ben la ha traicionado con Liu, que ahora está en posesión del manuscrito ofensivo de Caress. Por su parte, Alexis visita a Blake y le vuelve a amenazar: "Me has arrebatado todo lo que quería: mis hijos, uno a uno, y esta casa...Bien, respira profundamente, Blake, porque los chicos, la casa y todo lo que me pertenecía volverán a ser míos."
Feeling guilty over her cold treatment toward Amanda, Alexis rushes to La Mirage, only to find Amanda unconscious next to an empty bottle of barbiturates. Forcing the nearly lifeless girl to walk, a remorseful Alexis begs her daughter's forgiveness. At the hospital, Alexis and Blake stand over a comatose Amanda. Even as each blames the other for their daughter's suicide attempt, they reaffirm their commitment to the other's destruction. Claudia tells Krystle what she really thinks of her: "I was a mercy book in here and you know it. Having little old Claudia around made the rest of you feel all the more superior. You've always fascinated me. While the rest of this family manipulates and turns brother against brother, you stand by radiating this glow of passive acceptance. You allow the treachery and that makes you the most dangerous Carrington of them all." Afterwards, Krystle has to listen to Alexis´s ironies too:
"Nothing is for free in this life. You, of all people, should know that. After all, you've charged enough." Dominique proposes to Garrett and the two make plans to marry. Steven fears losing custody of Danny if Sammy Jo marries Clay Fallmont. Caress demands ten percent of Ben's inheritance in exchange for her silence regarding Emily Fallmont. Ben agrees, but secretly arranges to have Caress extradited to Caracas. Alexis prepares to call in her one billion dollar loan to Blake to gain control of his South China Sea leases. Calling her contact, Kai Liu, Alexis schedules a meeting with the Chinese Oil Ministry. But she is yet unaware of Ben's own scheme with Liu, who now has possession of the damaging manuscript, "Sister Dearest." Unaware of this, Alexis visits Blake and threatens him (again): "Everything I have ever loved you've taken away from me - my children - one by one - this house. Well, take a deep breath, Blake, because the children and this house and everything that belonged to me is going to be mine again."

Seguro de que las concesiones del Mar de China le cubrirán, Blake adquiere una enorme cantidad de acciones de la Colbyco. Aprovechándose de su precaria situación, Alexis falsifica las cifras de producción petrolífera de Blake. En Hong Kong, Blake se enfrenta a la ruina financiera cuando el Ministro Han le acusa de haberle engañado y le confía que las concesiones no serán asignadas a él. Al mismo tiempo, Alexis se topa con Krystle en una joyería:
"No creo que me sienten bien esas perlas, no tienen ningún estilo" - dice ella. "Te podrían sentar bien a ti. Pero bueno, ¿dónde las llevarías cuando Blake se arruine, en una cafetería?" Dex revela el sospechoso pasado de Ben a Alexis. Desoyendo la advertencia, Alexis, junto con Blake, es víctima de la traición de Ben. Usando el escándalo judicial y "Hermana querida" para manchar las reputaciones de la D-C y la Colbyco, Ben obtiene el control absoluto de las concesiones del Mar de China. Steven intenta investigar los archivos ocultos de Adam, pero los registros son destruidos antes que pueda descubrir el secreto de su hermano. Secure that his South China Sea leases will cover him, Blake purchases increasing amounts of Colbyco stock. Taking advantage of his precarious situation, Alexis falsifies Blake's oil production figures. In Hong Kong, Blake is faced with financial ruin when Chinese Oil Minister Han accuses him of cheating and intimates that the leases may no longer be extended to him. At the same time, Alexis finds Krystle in a jewelry:
"I'm really not sure about these pearls, they're so dowdy" - she says. "They might look good on you. Then again, where would you wear them after Blake goes broke - a cafeteria." Dex reveals Ben's suspicious past to Alexis. Disregarding the warning, Alexis, along with Blake, falls prey to Ben's treachery. Using the court scandal and "Sister Dearest" to blacken the reputations of the Denver-Carrington and Colbyco powers, Ben gains sole control of the South China Sea leases. Steven attempts to investigate Adam's guarded files, but the records are destroyed before he can uncover the secret he knows his brother is hiding. Dominique makes wedding plans. Passionate feelings grow when Sammy Jo and Clay spend a candlelit evening together.

Blake se sorprende cuando la prensa anuncia que Ben ha conseguido las concesiones de China. Seguro de que Ben y Alexis han conspirado juntos, Blake regala a ambos sendas de "Hermana querida," que entrega ávido de venganza a los periodistas: "Te juro, Alexis, que te veré en el infierno antes de dejar que me quites nada." "Oh, no quiero algo, Blake, lo quiero todo" - le corrige ella. Sammy Jo y Amanda rivalizan por la atención de Clay durante la fiesta de compromiso de Dominique. Cuando una animada discusión acaba con ambas mujeres en la piscina, Amanda y Sammy Jo siguen peleando:
"Bueno, doña perfecta, pareces una gata mojada en una noche lluviosa" - dice Sammy Jo. "Patética zorrita." "Nunca tendrás a Clay, Amanda. Él necesita a una mujer de verdad, no a una pobre imitación de plástica..." Claudia informa a Blake de que, cuando estaba enfermo, concedio a Adam un poder judicial para devolverle a ella el pozo de Walter. Molesta porque el pozo se ha secado casi completamente, Claudia se sumerge en un pasado de pesadilla...Se encierra en una suite iluminada con velas y por accidente el fuego de las velas se propaga por la habitación...La felicidad de Dominique desaparece cuando se entera de que Garrett nunca estuvo casado. Tras manipular a Ben para que le de una de las concesiones, Alexis trama su venganza definitiva. Requiriendo el pago de los mil millones, Alexis pone a Blake en una situación financieramente insostenible. Al no poder devolver el dinero y negarse a utilizar acciones de la D-C en su lugar, ella toma control de la mansión en compañía de Ben:
"Ya lo has oído, Blake, estás acabado. Lo has perdido todo y ahora esta casa es mía." "¿Esta casa, estás loca?" "Oh, no, estoy muy cuerda. Así que coge esta porquería y a tu rubia mantenida y vete de mi casa..." Sin el poder necesario para detenerla legalmente, Blake se deja llevar por la rabia y coge a Alexis por el cuello para estrangularla...
Blake is shocked when newspaper headlines announce Ben's acquisition of the South China Sea leases. Sure of Ben and Alexis' collusion, Blake greets the co-conspirators with copies of "Sister Dearest," which he vengefully hands out to the hungry press: "I swear, Alexis, I'll see you in hell before I let you take anything from me." "Oh, I just don't want anything, Blake, I want everything" - she corrects him. Sammy Jo and Amanda fight for Clay's affections during Dominique's engagement party. When a vicious struggle lands both women in the pool, Amanda holds a helpless Sammy Jo under water:
"Well, Miss Perfection, you look like a cat on a rainy night" - Sammy Jo tells her. "You pathetic little tart." "You'll never get Clay, Amanda. He wants a real woman, not a plastic excuse for one..." Claudia informs Blake that while ill, he gave Adam power of attorney to turn the Lankershim One oil well over to her. Disturbed that the well is nearly dry, Claudia becomes lost in a dreamlike past. Locking herself into a candlelit room, she accidentally sets the room at La Mirage ablaze...Dominique's happiness is shattered when she learns that Garrett was never married before. After manipulating Ben into giving her one half of the leases, Alexis plots her ultimate revenge. Calling in her one billion dollar loan, Alexis renders a stunned Blake financially impotent. When he is unable to repay the money and refuses to relinquish the equivalent in Denver-Carrington stock, she takes over the mansion in the company of Ben:
"You heard him, Blake, you're finished. You've lost everything and I now own this house." "This house, are you insane?" "Oh no, I'm perfectly sane. So, take this junk and your blonde tramp and get out of my home." Legally powerless to stop her, Blake breaks into a fiery rage and grabs Alexis by the throat.
