Ingrid Bee Original Artworks

Ingrid always had a keen interest in Art and, after leaving school, studied for a National BTEC diploma in Art and Design, participating in all areas of the course, and went on to study Textile Design at Derby University, initially in woven textile design. Later she began painting for a local gallery, exhibiting at several art exhibitions, and began painting full time in 2003 following her success there.

To date, she has sold paintings in this country (U.K.) and abroad to various galleries, private collectors and the corporate sector, as you may see in some of the pages on this website. She also works closely with interior designers to create original art for a variety of interiors.

Incorporating various techniques in her work, each original canvas is handmade in every aspect. Many original paintings are often stitched designs from original drawings, using needle and thread as a brush or pencil. Holes are sometimes cut into the canvas before they are stretched over a hand-made stretcher. Further textures are then applied before they are finally framed. Her work employs very unusual colours in surprising juxtapositions.

She has always been inspired by architecture and the places she has visited, and her designs vary from landscapes and buildings to bas-relief florals and large brilliantly coloured abstracts.
