Motorsport Limited Editions by Dave Foord

David is a self-taught artist from Haverfordwest, who would love to say that he has been painting all of his life, but before October 2000 the only painting he had created involved gloss and emulsion! So why did he start? David was advised to get a hobby whilst being treated for clinical depression. Dave Foord took up painting as a hobby and has now been producing originals on a full-time basis for nearly two years. He began painting wildlife subjects, but moved on to motorsport as he felt more inspired by the vibrant colours and graphic nature of the subject. He was born in Wales and has lived in many different places as his father was in the forces. He is now settled in Derbyshire with his family and has taken over one of the family rooms as a studio. He has had no formal training, but showed immense talent at school for technical drawing and has incorporated this skill into his highly detailed motorsport originals. Dave's chosen medium of acrylic lends itself perfectly to the drama and colour of this powerful subject. Dave is extremely single-minded and dedicated to his new found vocation and often paints for twelve hours a day, seven days a week and he still says it is not enough!
