This course teaches the fundamentals of map reading, analysis, and interpretation - required skills for the solution of spatial problems. We also discuss influences of maps on attitudes toward and images of the geographic environment and how that changes over time. Overall, this course will highlight the importance of maps and the variety of information that maps can convey. You will leave this course with an understanding and appreciation for maps, as well as basic skills to measure and interpret information presented in physical cartographic products.
