2013 Sanctuary Report #2: Wednesday, May 15 from Walla Walla, WA.
Dear Family and Friends:
The Sanctuary Exhibit is open and taking tours through from 1 P.M. each day through 7 P.M. when the last tour goes through. We have not had as many as usual thus far but there have been several school children come through as groups and that is always interesting. My group was full of questions and excited about some of the extra stories I shared along with the usual tour information.
Last night and this morning I was in charge of the worship for our group because Clayton L. who usually does it, was needed at the Sanctuary to help a group from Layman’s Ministries who are taking video of it for use in one of their upcoming DVDs. We had a special prayer request that you are invited to remember in your private devotions. Dr. Jay Sloop lives in Yakama, WA where we go next with the Exhibit. We looked forward to seeing him there because we had worked together in three series of meetings in India several years ago. He will likely not be there when we are because he is in Kiev, Ukraine helping establish a lifestyle center for the SDA Church. We just learned that yesterday he was taking a walk at 6:45 A.M. prior to meeting a friend for breakfast. Dr. Sloop disappeared and has not been seen since. We have no idea what happened, but the Lord knows and we want to petition our Lord to protect Dr. Sloop and return him to family and friends. Our world is a dangerous place everywhere anymore. We need to trust our Lord for safety and protection always, at home or abroad.
We have seen other classmates on tour also. One was Eric Kreye whom we knew at Emmanuel Missionary College. He wrote the book about his prewar experiences in Germany as a Nazi Youth, Under The Blood Banner. I spotted him and he also recognized me when we began to probe a bit. His daughter was with him, (his wife, Arby, died four years ago) and the daughter was with our Lucinda in Djarkta, Indonesia as a student missionary. Everywhere we go there are these flashbacks to former associations. That is just part of the blessing of attending our SDA Schools and establishing lifelong friends there.
We must soon head out for the Exhibit so will close for now.
With love,
Glenn and Mary Alice (Dad and Mom, Grandpa and Grandma)
