India Report #34 from Goodlettsville, TN Dec. 24 at 6:30 a.m.
Dear family and friends:
I thought #33 would be my last about our India trip, but yesterday we received shocking news I need to pass on. J.G. Paulson, the man who invited us to India to conduct the ten village programs in Andhra Pradesh since 2001, died yesterday of a heart attack at age 56. He was on a train headed for Hyderabad. The funeral was on Friday at 2:30 p.m. India time in the Hyderabad central church where we held a large Sanctuary Seminar in 2010 at his invitation.
We will greatly miss him and the efficient preparation and follow-up work done surrounding the meetings we conducted at his invitation. We solicit your prayers joining ours in behalf of the family. He leaves behind his wife, Shyla who is not in good health, and two sons, Pravene (we were at his wedding last year) and Prathrop who plans to wed in June of 2012. They wanted us to be there for that one also, but it is highly unlikely that we can do so.
Please focus prayer also on the choice of a successor by those who will make that choice. So much depends on the follow-up to the good work begun in the last two years’ evangelism there. We know that Satan characteristically will do all he can to take advantage of this loss to hurt the work there, but God is more powerful and can overrule him as He has done so many times. Our focused prayers are important in the equation. God does not violate the human power of choice, but our prayers can invited Him into this world that Satan claims as his own since Adam and Eve chose to rebel against God in Eden by their choice to eat the forbidden fruit. Our prayers can back up God’s decision to intervene and bring good out of bad.
Thank you for your faithful support that enabled us to answer Paulson’s (and God’s) call to conduct meetings in West Andhra Pradesh the past two years. Paulson told us that if we had not come, there would have been no pubic evangelism in that part of India that past two years. It is so good to be a part of God’s plan to harvest souls for His Kingdom in spite of the difficulties Satan always presents to prevent it.
Your partnership was a vital part of the success.
In His love,
Dad and Mom, (Glenn and Mary Alice)
