Forays

Each year we run a series of forays for group members, mainly in Autumn, on various sites in Staffordshire where we search for fungi and make field identifications and records. The Guide to Foraying explains what to expect on a foray and gives advice for successful foraying.

Please check the website prior to attending a foray in case any information has been changed. Forays have, on very rare occasions, been cancelled because of bad weather or unforeseen events. Before setting off, be sure you know where the Meeting Point is as well as the Venue.

Public Forays

We also hold one or two public forays each year. These are aimed particularly at those with little or no previous experience of foraying or fungi, so if you would like a free introduction to foraying, why not join us at one this year? Further details are given in the programme.

If you would like to take part in an introductory foray (without first becoming a group member) but cannot attend a public one, you are welcome to attend a members' foray for a nominal charge of £1.
