2016 Results

Hosted once again at Cobham RFC this year’s annual SSSSA Tag Rugby tournament on 20th October 2016 was another great success.

The weather held out perfectly and the sun even shone for a brief while! We, yet again, had the highest number of entries- this time 15 teams and were delighted to welcome at least one school new to the tournament.

The very high standard of play this year throughout the whole competition was commented on by both staff and referees and the students certainly gave every game (as well as supporting) their all.

It goes without saying that the tournament couldn’t happen without the amazing support of Cobham RFC and the HSLA students and Steve Fuller at Esher College. The hospitality afforded us by Cobham and the pre-tournament support and information from Suzanne were second to none and, yet again, the coaching, efficiency and maturity of the Esher students was a pleasure to see.

Organised by Suzanne at Cobham, we had a team of great referees who were all very supportive and really helped the players to enjoy the game. Particular thanks must be given to Jez who stepped in to help me reorganise the tournament first thing after an on-the-day challenge!

Thank you to everyone who supported and helped make today such an enjoyable, fun and successful experience.

Finally, of course, huge congratulations to Sunnydown ‘A’ and Clarendon who won the Trophy and Plate competitions respectively.
