Small Squigs
The First Squig?
Gobbledigook and his familiar Niibl (aka Niblitz)
Not Niibl but looks kinda similar eh?
Arguably the first squig miniature was from the White Dwarf Personalities Boxed Set [1984]
Although never actually mentioned as a squig, there's certainly a striking resemblance.
You can see their comic strip adventures by searching online for gobbledigook.
Squig herd
The following small squigs were sold as either Tyranid squigs or Ork squigs [1990-91], or both.
Some appear to match illustrations from classic Warhammer fluff, see the bestiary
This "Big Squig" (or Grabber-Slasher) is about the same height as a regular cave squig

Familiars [1988]
Often sold as part of the tyranid or ork squig herd, but never officially recognised as such. These were also catalogued as "chaos familiars"

Metal ogre cheerleader swinging squig [2002]
Having converted my Ogre cheerleader into a player, I thought I'd make use of the squig too. I've added legs and a tail from the old skaven plastic set.
The Crud Creek Nosepickers – Snotling Blood Bowl Team features some squig-like fungi. These are displayed on the animated fungi page
Warmaster squigs [2000]
Warmaster is essentially a 10mm scale version of Warhammer. These squigs were sold as part of the Orc characters set. I was never a collector of Warmaster, but thought these squigs would make good mini-squigs for my Warhammer collection.

Close up of Shaman with squig - maybe Skarsnik?
The Orc character bases also featured a couple of squigs, thanks Matt for pointing this out :)

Forgeworld statue [2000]
A small squig considering the scale of the figure. Would be interesting to see how big this guy is compared with a regular squig - I suspect it's probably somewhere between a cave squig and giant cave squig. Too pricey for me sadly. the most recent one I've seen on eBay was going for around £180!
