SCA Board Roles 2023-2024
The Bylaws call for the following ten elected positions:
President
First Vice President
Second Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Zoning Officer
Traffic/Public Safety Officer
Environment Officer
Membership
Communications/Newsletter Officer
The responsibilities of the positions are as follows:
President
• Lead the Board
• Preside over community meetings
• Cast tie-breaking vote if needed
1st Vice President
• Assist the President
• Stand in for President in any absence
2nd Vice President
• Assist the President
• Manage social events, including the annual Kids' Halloween Party
Secretary
• Record & distribute minutes of Board & Community meetings
Treasurer
• Accept & disburse monies
• Produce financial statements and recommendations
• File taxes
• Manage with the insurance provider
Zoning Officer
• Monitor zoning changes at the county
• Update residents on the above
Traffic/Public Safety Officer
• Communicate with County & State on traffic & road issues
• Monitor public safety issues affecting our neighborhood
• Act as a liaison with MC police District 2
• Update residents on the above
Membership Officer
• Communicate with residents regarding membership
• Manage membership renewal and, in coordination with Treasurer, ensure dues are collected
• Manage the Directory and arrange for distribution of printed directories to dues paying members
Communications/Newsletter Officer
• Direct the creation and mailing of the newsletter 3-4X a year
• Direct other communications efforts
Environment Officer
• Communicate with County & State on trees and other environmental issues
• Work with other neighborhoods, NGOs and other parties interested in environmental issues of concern to Springfield residents
