Super Bowl Football Box Pool

Also known as "Football Squares" - Here's a simple box pool you can use for a fun superbowl (Super Bowl?) game amongst friends. Set up for the 2020 Superbowl LIV matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, you can easily change it to work for any game!!

The Google Sheets Super Bowl Box Pool template includes a few things that might be a bit too heavy for some of you, too light for others (especially those of you who know we could do much better using Google Apps Script!) and just right for others. Even if you don't want to use the formulas and the online form for participation/signup, you can just use the box pool format to print and use some old-fashioned ink to fill it in ;)

This Google Sheet template uses:

  • A form to allow people to enter the contest - and it automatically puts them in a random box.

  • Some crazy formulas to figure out when the random score suffixes should be generated and placed on the matrix

  • A super simple workflow - with a custom menu - so the organizer can decide when the contest if "locked" and ready to distribute....

Super Bowl LIV

(that's Roman Numerals for 54!) is the main event for the National Football League (NFL) - and this 54th Super Bowl will decide the league champion for the league's 100th season!!
