M.R.E. created:

M.R.E. Was created as a team in 2011 to sim race in the Apexspeed winter championship, racing vintage(1976) Formula Atlantic cars in a series featuring amateur racing drivers.

After a hard fought season the race engineering expertise of Miller Race Engineering was able to carry the M.R.E. March 76B to 2nd place in the ApexSpeed Championship.

History leading up to M.R.E.

In 1999 a model was presented at the GSL XVII Model Car Convention of the SMR-3B Twin-Six V-12. This model represented an LMP1 chassis belonging to a newly established team that had managed to finish 4th in the 1998 Lemans 24 hours. The model was presented with accompanying magazine article excerpts and documentation to support the resurrection of the famous BRM Racing Team. Closer inspection revealed that the team and premise was in fact fictional or a least real only in the context of the model car, but represented a team called “Backfire Racing Machines”.

An additional model car project was presented at GSL XXII in the form of an Indycar diorama featuring Reynard Indycars being tested by Backfire Racing Machines, for a possible participation in Indycar racing in 2001.

So how does this relate to the hobbies of motor racing, sim racing and publication of model car related racing material?

In 2007 BRM(Back Fire Racing Machines) made its first entry into competitive on-line sim racing in a variety of classes that included F5000, Can Am and Indycar.

Shown here are some of the Sim Racing entries of Back Fire Racing Machines:
