Campaign Log (2014)

1) "A Friend in Need": While enjoying some Greek food at a restaurant in East Side, Sasha, Jazmyne, and Big John are joined by Gabe "Phase" Vonn, a friend of Sasha's. Phase is a small time hustler who has done some work with Sasha. The night before, Phase was transporting approximately $ 30k worth of "Act-Up" (Actoprelyn), an illegal amphetamine analog distributed by crime boss Enzi Diya. He was robbed and beaten by five boosters, members of the Imperial Slayers gang. The three PC's agreed to help Phase recover the drugs before Enzi Diya caught up with him. After some technical investigation and some rough questioning of the first gang member they captured, the PC's followed the gang to "Portillo Bodymod". This is a lowbrow cosmetic cyber/tattoo parlor in Ikebara District. They snuck in the back of the body mod shop, and came upon the four remaining gang members.

2) "The Ling Sukarno Heist": Mere hours after the hijinks surrounding Phase and the lost Actoprelyn, Eve Quince sent out a cryptic communication to the PC's on her roster. With that announcement, the PC's are on notice that some sort of heist operation is planned for the immediate future. Sasha first performed a quick reconnaissance of the target, the Ling Suharno assembly plant in the North Industriplex, so they would know what they are up against.

The PC's quickly and smoothly entered the facility as planned, and extracted twenty cases of fiber-optic nervous systems of the sort used in combat borgs and battle armor. Each one has a value of tens of thousands of dollars on the black market. using stealth and trickery, the operation went off without a hitch or a shot fired. Unfortunately, on the way to the safe-house, two things became apparent. One, Eve Quinn was missing. Two, the PC's van was being followed by a sedan full of grotesque and armed members of the Demon's gang. After one tossed a phone into the van, the PC's were contacted by none other than Nick Ransom, fixer and aide-de-camp of Tex the Tech. Ransom politely ordered the PC's to surrender the goods. When they refused, the Demons attempted to force them off the road. They escaped after crippling the sedan and killing two Demons, but were followed by an armed heli-drone. This was also disabled, but the safehouse was compromised. It was later determined that Eve had been roofied while out drinking by Nick Ransom himself. She theorize that Nick had wanted her out of the picture but did not want her killed or injured... perhaps out of professional courtesy, but one can never tell with Nick Ransom or his mysterious patron.

A short, sharp gun battle ensued, after which the PC's were only able to recover about 1/3 of the total drug stash. Three of the gang members were killed (Chromeboy, Shinobi, and Lord Lee D'mayne), while the PC's suffered only superficial injuries.  Two gang members survived the encounter, Bubbles and Jane the Pirate. They may be able to identify the PC's by description, especially Jane, who got a good long look at Sasha and Big John before being incapacitated and left behind. Boy, is she pissed off about all of this.

The next morning, the PC's set off in a Humvee with the car, and Jazmyne scouting on her Shiva. The ultimate destination was Delta, Utah. This small town deep in Sovereign Deseret would require an arduous journey across the "Basin and Ranges", the most desolate part of lawless central Nevada. After a short fight with two roadgangers and several close calls with other larger groups of bandits, the group made it safely to the oasis town of Ely, Nevada. The group spent the night in this little fortress town, which is precariously divided between the Montags, who control the water infrastructure, and the Kaplans, who control the power grid. there exists a fierce enmity between these two rival families. The PC's stayed on their guard, and set off the next morning without incident.

Departing with the rising sun, the PC's made it only thirty miles before they ran into a roadganger ambush that left the Shiva immobile. After dealing with their assailants, they continued onto Delta, UT. The meet itself was quite straightforward. The client's agent contacted them at the "Rancher Inn", then led them out to an abandoned farmstead. Goods and payment were exchanged by the PC's and the pleasant and clean Mormon solos, who provided a copy of the Book of Mormon in the duffle bag along with $400,000 in AFR currency. Each PC took their $20k, then the rest was laundered in Salt Lake City for a small fee. Eve's organization took in $300k after fees and bribes. All in all, a successful job with only a few loose ends waiting for them.

3) "LA Story": After selling the Ling Suharno gear to their client, the PC's decide to take a short trip to Los Angeles to settle a score. They discovered that Clay Humboldt, the snitch who sold them out to Nick Ransom, was hiding out in the tidal basin of old West LA, an area called "The Floats". After tracking him, the PC's negotiated with a local Triad warlord for permission to seize him on the warlord's island. They were able to take him into custody with little bloodshed. They got their money back, then opted to let him go. A big win for the crew, but they now have to decide how to deal with the real problem of Nick Ransom and his boss, the enigmatic Tex the Tech.
