Ann Spiers’s new poetry collection, Back Cut, will debut from Black Heron Press in spring/summer 2021. She is the inaugural poet laureate of Vashon Island, Washington. She served as Vashon Audubon president and worked as the Land Trust’s staff. She cowrote Walks, Trails and Parks on Vashon Island and stewards the Vashon Poetry Post. Her chapbooks are What Rain Does (Egress Studio), Bunker Trail (Finishing Line), and Long Climb into Grace (FootHills). Please visit Ann’s website.

Linera Lucas won the Crucible Fiction Prize. Her poetry has appeared in Clover, Eclipse Magazine, Elohi Gadugi, PageBoy Magazine, Spillway, What Rough Beast, and at the Museum of Northwest Art. She coedited Writings on Domestic Verbal, Emotional, and Physical Abuse, forthcoming from McFarland. Lucas has a BA from Reed College and an MFA from Queens University, and has taught at the UW Women’s Center, Reed Alumni Writing Workshop, and Hugo House. Visit her website.
